Wanker of the Month: Qantas bans tourist from wearing 'Bush terrorist' T-shirt

I am starting a new section called 'Wanker of the Month'. Each month, I am going to pick individuals, governments, companies etc. who I think are responsible for making this world a dreadful place to live in. Actually, I will probably need to change this to 'Wanker of the hour' or something a bit more frequent.

Qantas Airlines banned a British tourist from boarding their flight because he was wearing a T-shirt that depicts G.W. Bush as a terrorist. Kudos to the tourist for refusing to board the flight till he is extended his democratic rights!

Full story here.

So much for democracy and free speech ideals that these imperialists swear to protect with their (and other people's) lives.

Congratulations Qantas. You are the 'Wanker of the Month'.

Winux

I finally got around to giving WINE a go on my UBUNTU laptop and I must say it is very impressive. I can finally run my favorite chess clients under Linux.

Here is a screenshot of the PlayChess client running merrily on my Linux box.

Switching to Vista?

My friend Alejandro send me an interesting link about Micro$oft Vista. You can read all about it here:

http://badvista.fsf.org/

I tried searching for this site using MSN search and indeed it does not show up! Folks at MSN suppressing information and free speech? I think so. I would not put anything past M$.

I am loving my Ubuntu box ever more with each passing day.

Here is a recent talk by Robert Fisk and Noam Chomsky about the crisis in the Middle East.

It is close to two hours but definitely worth watching.
